Bexley Community Bank

By the turn of the 2000s, three of the four ‘big banks’ and two larger building societies had left Bexley – leaving a significant banking and financial services void within our community. In 2001, the local Chamber of Commerce initiated a drive to establish a Bendigo Bank Community Bank Branch in Bexley.

Through the tireless efforts of the Bexley Chamber of Commerce, a determined steering committee, a host of volunteers, and many supportive individual benefactors & business owners, we were able to raise $650,000 to establish our Community Bank. Our Community Bank branch of Bendigo Bank has been operating in Bexley Town Centre since 2004. Community banking is based on a ‘profit with purpose’ model, which means our profits can be returned directly to the community.

In partnership with Bendigo Bank, we provide our customers access to banking products and financial services. Community Bank Bexley actively supports our local community by way of grants, sponsorships, and community partnerships. We pride ourselves on our customer service, product offering, engagement with the local community, and knowing our customers by name!
